I have been thinking about my mother and me as a mother a lot the last several weeks. I am so thankful that my mother is loves me. Traveling through this cancer experience has taught me to love and appreciate her even more. She has been there for me ways, I never imagined.
However, her presence with me during this season inspired me to love my son stronger and deeper; and then I realized, I already was, meaning we are always doing the best we can in any moment. However, that moment looks different based on where we are in life, and our ability to embrace the current moment.
Recently, I have realized at a deeper level the importance of a mother's love. A mother's love isn't perfect, meaning it doesn't show up the way you always want it too, but for sure, she's always loving you the best she can. And her love is a gift, in many ways, just as God's love is a gift.
We can receive and enjoy our mother's love as truly special, when we realize that it's a gift, and not owed to us.
Most of us, the children of Mothers, if you think about it and look honestly in the mirror of life, that we are just like our mothers. We are human beings doing the best we can at any given moment.
Mama, I end this blog with a simple "thank you" for choosing to love me, as I am indeed, just like you. I love you!
